Priscilla Hill-Ardoin addresses the 11th Annual Charles Drew Community Blood Donation Appreciation Luncheon.  The Charles Drew Blood Donation Campaign of the Missouri-Illinois Blood Services Division of the American Red Cross recruits African American blood donors, identifies donor matches for children with sickle cell disease in need of regular blood transfusion, and provides community education on the constant need for blood.

Charles Drew Society of the American Red Cross.  Supports the expansion of the Charles Drew Blood

Drive that targets African American donors in

Missouri and Illinois. 

 

Department of Pediatrics, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.  Supports community-based enrichment and educational activities for families of children with sickle cell disease.

 

Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.  Will develop a pilot and educational program for healthcare professionals to address the currently inefficient transition from pediatric to adult care of sickle cell disease patients.
